About the RunDate: Saturday November 8th Time: 9:00AM Location: Marsh Loop Bay Trail. (See map to the right) About Liz's MinistryInterVarsity posters around the country read, "Transform Your Life, Renew the Campus, Change the World" and Elizabeth prays that students in InterVarsity will fall in love with Jesus as adults, that their hearts will be filled with love for the things God loves and will break for the things that break God's heart, and that this Spirit-given life in them will change their spheres of influence as they go into the world. She reminds her students, "Only 4% of the world receives a college education; what are you going to do with the influence and access the Lord has given you? How are you going to live as a child of God each day?" As she studies scripture with students she loves to see them wake up a little bit more to the beauty of our Lord. Elizabeth prays that authentic witnessing relationships will develop with other campus groups as IV students learn to see the campus as the "harvest field" where the Lord is leading us to walk closer with him, and as we invite others along with us. As the Team Leader for Chico, her work with students involve weekly small group Bible studies and Large Group meeting (fellowship, teaching, worship, community), conferences and retreats to equip and challenge students in their walk with the Lord, one-on-one discipleship with key student leaders, and Bible studies with non-Christians ("GIG's", God Investigation Groups) where Elizabeth brings her leadership students along with her discuss Jesus with non-Christians who are curious about Christianity. She also helps oversee the chapter at Shasta College in Redding, which Simpson college student Rachel Kuhn is keeping going. The Shasta chapter is growing with 3 Bible studies meeting every Monday. |
